Welcome back to a brand new school year. It is both an honor and a privilege to serve the Alabama School Nutrition for the upcoming school year and the honor will not be taken lightly. As representative of what I feel is the best association in the nation I look forward to hearing from you. I welcome any suggestions, comments and yes even criticisms that would assist us in making a great organization even better.
I would like to extend a heartfelt “thank you” to everyone who attended the March 2010 Food Nutrition Expo held in Birmingham, Alabama. I am grateful to conference attendees who took the time to let me know that they enjoyed the numerous activities, training sessions and classes. Though the planning and implementation was intense your stamp of approval meant the world to me and made this all worthwhile.
Conference this year will be held in our beautiful state capital Montgomery, Alabama on March 18-19, 2011. Christi Fink, President-Elect has literally hit the ground running in the planning of ASNA Conference 2011. Based upon what I have heard thus far you are in for a real treat. Dust off those cowboy hats and western gear and get ready to “rustle up” loads of specialized training, activities and camaraderie.
We will also have special guest attending this year. Nancy Rice, School Nutrition Association President and Karen Green, Southeastern Regional Director will be joining us. What a wonderful opportunity for the Association.
Looking forward to a wonderful year as we strive to be the best and represent what is good about Alabama.
Warmest Regards,
Sonja Anthony, M.S., SNS
ASNA President 2010-2011
